Draftable is a real-time collaborative drafting platform where groups can take turns selecting items—whether you're drafting fantasy sports teams, ranking movies, picking restaurants, or anything else you can imagine. Think of it as a structured way to make group decisions fun.
Click "Create Draft" from the dashboard, give it a title, choose your draft type (Traditional, Relaxed, or Prediction), configure settings like number of rounds and snake order, then invite participants via email or share link.
Yes! Draftable is free for personal use. We're focused on making group decision-making fun and accessible.
Traditional drafts have timed picks where you must select within a time limit or forfeit. Relaxed drafts have no timer pressure—pick whenever you're ready. Prediction drafts are for making picks about future outcomes (like sports predictions) that can be scored later.
The commissioner (draft creator) controls the draft: they can start/pause the draft, manage participants, adjust settings, handle disputes, and override picks if needed. Think of them as the moderator.
Yes, until the draft starts. Once live, most settings are locked to ensure fairness. The commissioner can still manage participants and pause if needed.
In snake order, the pick sequence reverses each round. So if Round 1 is A→B→C, Round 2 is C→B→A. This balances fairness since later pickers in Round 1 pick earlier in Round 2.
You can join via an invite link shared by the commissioner, or by searching for public drafts. Some drafts require commissioner approval before you can participate.
You'll see a prominent indicator when you're the current picker. In timed drafts, a countdown shows your remaining time. The app shows who's up next so you can prepare.
In timed drafts, your pick is forfeited and the draft advances. In relaxed drafts, the draft waits for you. Commissioners can also manually forfeit picks if someone is unresponsive.
Yes! Join as a spectator to follow along in real-time. Spectators can view picks and chat but cannot make selections.
In Traditional (timed) drafts, each picker has a set amount of time (e.g., 60 seconds) to make their selection. A countdown timer shows remaining time. When it hits zero, the pick is forfeited.
Yes! You can add AI participants to fill out your draft. AI opponents make contextually appropriate picks based on the draft topic and what's already been selected.
When enabled, you can only pick from a predefined list of options. When disabled, you can type any custom pick. This is useful for structured drafts (like NFL players) vs. open-ended ones (like "best pizza toppings").
The Up Next queue shows upcoming pickers in order, accounting for snake draft reversals. This is calculated server-side to ensure accuracy across all participants.
You can sign in with Google or use a magic email link (passwordless). We don't store passwords—authentication is handled securely through Firebase.
Yes! Click your avatar in the top right, then "Edit screen name" to change how you appear to other participants.
Public drafts are discoverable by anyone. Private drafts are only visible to invited participants. Unlisted drafts require a direct link but don't appear in search.
Yes. We use Firebase's security infrastructure with strict Firestore rules. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We don't sell or share your information.
Check your internet connection. Draftable uses Firebase real-time listeners, so updates should appear instantly. Try refreshing the page if you're experiencing delays.
If a draft appears frozen, the commissioner can pause and resume it, or manually advance past a stuck picker. Contact support if the issue persists.
